The story of our wooden toys began a long time ago when young woodworker started to make different products and trying out different sorts of wood. For a long time, he was just experimenting, but in 2017 the big change happened: his son saw the potential of high-quality wooden products he was making and proposed creating a trademark. They talked about it and started working. The made a logo, website and packaging and they were ready to put the new brand on the market. But it soon turned out that these things are not as simple as they thought. The team had to occupy with huge competition, especially from the third world countries, where human work is cheaper and the products are cheaper.
wood&dots initially included wooden toys, but soon we added other products. From wooden cutting boards to wooden boxes. And today everyone can find something for himself.
After three years of hard work, we can finally say, that wood&dots is a rising brand, which slowly asserts on the market. We learned a lot in the past three years, but we know that we still have lots of work to do. We are preparing new products, which will be launched soon. And on this point, I invite you, to accompany us. On Facebook, Instagram or on this new blog, where we will share useful tips about our products, discuss themes about wood and answer your questions.
O, and one more thing before I go…you might be curious, who is sitting on this side of the computer. My name is Urban Boštic and I am young woodworkers’ son. Yes, the one from above. I am studying Industrial design on Academy of fine arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia. I like making stuff and people say, that I have a (too) vivid imagination. And I am also a member of the team, which is pulling our little brand into the world.
Blog with a story was created to celebrate the third anniversary of wood&dots. We want to share the knowledge we have, help people to make decisions and gather a community of people, who appreciate massive wood and products, made in Slovenia. But about that some other time 😉
Till next week.
